Robertas Šervenikas, the Second Conductor of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO), is recognized for his expertise in contemporary and classical music. His repertoire spans symphonic, opera, and ballet music, with significant focus on contemporary works. Šervenikas has premiered numerous compositions by Lithuanian composers, including works by O. Narbutaitė and Algirdas Martinaitis. He frequently collaborates with international orchestras, including Israel Camerata, the Royal Philharmonic, and St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra. His extensive recording catalog includes CDs released by Naxos and Finlandia Records.

Šervenikas’ international career began in 1997 when Mstislav Rostropovich invited him to assist in the production of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet at the Evian Festival. His career highlights include conducting the Bavarian State Opera and prestigious performances in renowned venues such as Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Tokyo Suntory Hall. He has worked with world-class artists such as cellists Mstislav Rostropovich, David Geringas and Mischa Maisky, trumpeter Maurice André, pianists Denis Matsuev, Arcadi Volodos, Mikhail Pletnev, A.Volodin and Freddy Kempf, violinists Sarah Chang, Maxim Fedotov and Julian Rachlin, violists Wolfram Christ and Yury Bashmet. Šervenikas was awarded Lithuania’s National Arts and Culture Prize in 2005 and continues to actively contribute to Lithuania’s cultural scene.
